The Wilmington University baseball team earned a split on Saturday versus the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning. WilmU lost the first game 13-1 and took home the victory in the second match 9-3.

Wilmington University holds a two-run lead at the end of the third inning.
Junior catcher/first baseman Mason DeLuca would put the Wildcats first on the board in this game when he hit a two-run homer to left field in the bottom of the opening inning.
The Lightning would cut the lead to one (2-1) in the top of the second, with a solo lead-off homer to right center.
Senior catcher/first baseman Nick Classie gave WilmU a two-run (3-1) advantage in the bottom of the third when he smacked an RBI single down the left-field line.
The Wildcats take home a 9-3 win!
Goldey-Beacom would tie the game at three when they scored two runs on one hit in the top of the fourth.
Wilmington regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth when the team scored five runs on five hits to grab an 8-3 advantage.
Graduate first baseman Kody Clausius started the scoring in the inning by hitting an RBI single through the right side.
Nick Classie and senior outfielder AJ Tropiano each hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning.
Senior outfielder/ pitcher Shawn Edevane would seal a 9-3 win in the sixth inning with an RBI single to right field.
Pitching Recap:
Redshirt sophomore pitcher Tyler Reinert earned the win by going five innings, giving up five hits, three runs, three earned runs, one walk, striking out three, and giving up one home run.
