Kolmansberger’s big day lifts Goldey-Beacom to a split versus Wilmington University

The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team earned a split versus the Wilmington University Wildcats on Saturday with a 13-1 win in the first game and a 9-3 loss in the second.

Game Recap:

Goldey-Beacom leads by five runs at the end of the fifth inning.

The Lightning jumped out to a quick 2-0 edge in the top of the opening inning when senior infielder Braden Kolmansberger smashed a two-run homer to center field.

GBC’s advantage would go to three in the top of the third when Senior infielder Jaden Dickerson hit an RBI double to center field.

In the bottom of the inning, the Wildcats would cut the lead to two (3-1) with a RBI single through the right side.

The Bolts’ edge would expand to five (6-1) in the sixth when Sophomore infielder Bobby Stewart slapped an RBI double to left field, and Senior infielder Dante DiSabatino blasted a two-run homer to right field.

The Lightning takes home a 13-1 win!

Goldey-Beacom’s lead ballooned to seven (8-1) in the top of the seventh when Jaden Dickerson hit a two-run double to center field.  

The Bolts would seal a 13-1 victory in the eighth inning when Dickerson pushed home a run when he reached base with a walk, and Braden Kolmansberger slugged a four-run homer to left field.

Pitching Recap:

Senior pitcher Mikey Hawbaker earned the win by giving up eight hits, one run, one earned run, and striking four out in eight innings.
