The Wilmington University baseball team earned a sweep on Wednesday versus the Georgian Court University Lions. WilmU won the first game 10-4 and took home the victory in the second match 9-2.
Head Coach Brian August hit a milestone in this sweep as he passed the 600-win mark of his career, as he earned the 601st in the second game.

Wilmington University leads by five runs at the end of the fourth inning.
The Wildcats took the first lead of the game with Sophomore outfielder/pitcher Brandon Grygo hitting an RBI single to left field, and Graduate student infielder Josearmando Diaz pushed in a run when he reached base by getting hit by a ball to giving their team a 2-0 edge in the third inning.
In the fourth inning, the Cats scored three runs on two hits and two errors to give the team a 5-0 lead.
Freshman outfielder CJ Nocella started the scoring in the inning by pushing home a run with a sacrifice bunt.
Senior outfielder Kory Pritchard hit an RBI single to right field on the next play.
Sophomore pitcher/first baseman Chase Fleming capped off the inning by pushing home a run when he reached base on a fielder’s choice.
WilmU takes home a 10-4 win over Post!
Georgian Court got on the board in the top of the fifth inning with a solo homer to take the score to 5-1.
In the bottom of the inning, the Cats’ advantage grew to 7-1, with Redshirt junior outfielder Cam Trego slugging a solo homer to right-center and CJ Nocella pushing home a run when he grounded out to third base.
The Lions cut the lead to 7-3 in the sixth inning by scoring two runs, two hits, and two errors.
Brandon Grygo extended the Cats’ advantage to 9-3 in the seventh with a two-run homer to right field.
Josearmando Diaz gave WilmU a 10-3 edge in the eighth by slamming a solo homer down the right-field line.
Georgian Court would score a run in the ninth, but Wilmington would still take home a 10-4 win.
Pitching Recap:
Wilmington University used six pitchers in the game, including sophomore pitcher/infielder Xavier Cortez, who pitched one inning, one hit, one run, one earned run, struck out two, and one home run, and earned the win.
Game Recap GM 2:
Wilmington University leads by eight runs at the end of the third inning.
Freshman infielder Zach Rosenzweig gave the Cats the first lead in this game with an RBI single to center field to take the score to 1-0 in the first inning.
Senior infielder Tristan Schoendienst gave WilmU a 2-0 edge in the second with an RBI double to left field.
Wilmington’s lead ballooned to 8-0 in the third, the team scored six runs on six hits and two errors.
The highlights of the inning came when Rosenzweig and senior outfielder/ pitcher Shawn Edevane each hit a two-run homer.
Georgian Court would get on the board in the fourth inning by pushing home two runs to take the score to 8-2.
Rosenzweig would give his team a 9-2 lead in the sixth with an RBI double to center field.
Pitching Recap:
Senior pitcher Scott Borgmann earned the win by giving up two hits, two runs, two earned runs, one walk, and striking out two in five innings.
