The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team earned a split versus the Post University Eagles on Wednesday with a 9-8 loss in the first game and a 7-6 win in the second.
Senior infielder Braden Kolmansberger broke a program record in this doubleheader, as he became the Lightning’s all-time career RBI leader with 139. Kolmansberger went past former Bolts player Kyle Walker, who had 137. He did it by recording three RBIs in the first matchup and one in the second.

The Lightning leads by four runs at the end of the fourth inning.
Post took the first lead in this game when they scored the first run on a throwing error, giving their team a 1-0 edge in the top of the opening inning.
Goldey-Beacom tied the game at one in the bottom of the inning when Braden Kolmansberger slapped an RBI double to right center.
The Eagles regained the lead in the third inning by pushing home a run on a ground out to the shortstop to take the score to 2-1.
Sophomore infielder Bobby Stewart gave GBC a 3-2 advantage in the bottom of the inning by slugging a two-run homer to left center.
The Lightning’s lead grew to 6-2 in the bottom of the fourth when the team scored three runs on two hits.
Senior outfielder Christian Petrillo started the scoring in the inning by hitting an RBI single to third base.
Two plays later, Senior infielder Jaden Dickerson smoked a two-run double down the left-field line.
Goldey-Beacom takes home a 7-6 win!
Post would tighten the deficit to two (6-4) in the top of the fifth inning when getting runs home with a ground out and single.
Senior infielder Dante DiSabatino pushed the Bolts’ lead to three (7-4) with an RBI single up the middle in the bottom of the inning.
Fast forward to the top of the seventh inning, where the Eagles hit a two-run homer to cut the deficit to 7-6, but Goldey would hang on to win 7-6.
Pitching Recap:
Goldey-Beacom used four pitchers in the game, including junior pitcher Nate Miller, who earned the win by giving up three hits, two runs, one earned run, two walks, striking out three, and hitting one batter in four innings.
Freshman pitcher George Starr earned the save by pitching one inning.
