Our 2024-2025 season player review series continues with Delaware Tech’s women’s basketball freshman forward Thailys Torres.
Torres led the team in scoring this season, with 16 points per game.
When Delaware Tech needed a bucket this season, Torres was one the team went to, as she recorded double-digits in 17 games. She scored over 20 points in eight games this year.
Torres scored her season-high in points versus Middlesex on February 13th, where she scored 28 points. She made nine of her 19 shots, drained four of seven tries from the three-point line, and nailed six of eight free throws.
Another highlight performance came on January 21st versus Salem, where she had 26 points. Torres made ten of her 16 shots, drained five of seven tries from the three-point line, and nailed one free throw.
Scoring isn’t Torres’ only skill, as she knew how to get her teammates involved in the offense this season. The Delaware Tech freshman landed third on the team this year, with 2.5.
On the defensive side, Torres landed third on the team this season in steals per game, with 1.4.
