Season Review: Delaware Tech’s Obi Coleman

Our 2024-2025 season player review series continues with Delaware Tech’s men’s basketball freshman guard Obi Coleman.

Coleman was third on the team in scoring this season, with 14.8 points per game.

The Delaware Tech guard found his name on the scorecard a lot this season, recording double-digits in points in 24 games. He also netted seven games, where the Smyrna high school alum scored over 20 points.

Coleman’s game-high in points was 24, which he hit three times this season. He first reached the total on November 2nd versus Harford Community College, where the first-year player made eight out of his 11 shots, drained six of 11 shots from the three-point line, and nailed two free throws.

The second time, the Delaware Tech sophomore recorded 24 points was on January 22nd versus Anne Arundel Community College, where he made nine of his 16 shots and drained six of 10 tries from the three-point line.

The last time came on January 30th, versus Cecil College, where he made ten of 16 shots, nailed three of eight shots from the three-point line, and hit one of three free throws.

Coleman consistently collected balls off the board this season, landing third on the team in rebounds per game, with 6.2. He recorded six games where the Del Tech guard picked up double-digits in rebounds.

Opposing players didn’t like to see the Delaware Tech freshman coming, leading the team in steals per game with two and blocks with one.

Coleman averaged 14.8 points per game, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 29 games.
