Our 2024-2025 season player review series continues with Delaware Tech’s men’s basketball sophomore guard Drew Zimmerman.
Zimmerman led the team in scoring this season, with 21 points per game.
When Delaware Tech needed a bucket, Zimmerman was the go-to guy, recording double-digits in points in 28 games. He also posted 12 games with over 20 points. The Cape Henlopen high school alum also netted four games with 30 points.
Zimmerman’s season-high in points came against Mercer on December 3rd, when he scored 38 points. The second-year guard made 12 of his 31 shots, drained two of his eight tries from the three-point line, and nailed all 12 free throws. He also had a double-double in the loss, collecting ten rebounds.
One of his best shooting performances of the season came against Union on November 9th, where the Delaware Tech sophomore had 33 points. Zimmerman made 11 of his 18 shots, hit two of his four attempts at the three-point line, and nailed nine of ten free throws.
Zimmerman knew how to score, but the guard shared the rock with his teammates, as he led Del Tech in assists per game this year, with 5.9. He recorded two games with double-digits in assists this season. The sophomore also had four games with four assists.
He also ended the season with a bang recording a triple-double with 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists versus Essex on February 22nd.
Zimmerman also had quick hands this season, landing second on the team in steals per game, with 1.8.
The Delaware Tech guard averaged 21 points per game, 4.9 rebounds, and 5.9 assists in 28 games.
