The Wilmington University baseball team earned a sweep on Sunday versus the Lincoln University (PA) Lions. WilmU won the first game 19-10 and took home the victory in the second match 9-2.

Wilmington University leads by two runs at the end of the second inning.
Sophomore outfielder/pitcher Brandon Grygo started the game off with a bang for the Wildcats, hitting a lead-off solo homer in the top of the opening inning.
Four plays later, senior outfielder Kory Pritchard pushed home a run with a Sac Fly to give his team a 2-0 edge.
Grygo continued to bat hot in the top of the second, hitting an RBI triple to right field to give the Cats a 3-0 edge.
In the bottom of the second inning, Lincoln cut the lead to two runs (3-1) when they pushed in a runner home with a ground out to second base.
Lincoln ties the game up at six at the end of the third inning.
Wilmington pushed their lead to five (6-1) in the top of the third inning when they scored three runs on three hits and one error.
Sophomore pitcher/first baseman Chase Fleming pushed in the first run of third when grounded out to the shortstop.
Two plays later, Redshirt junior outfielder Cam Trego doubled to right field to give WilmU a 5-1 advantage.
Sophomore shortstop/pitcher Garrett Quinn capped the inning off when he got a runner when he reached base on an error.
In the bottom of the inning, the Lions came swinging back, putting up five runs, including a two-run double and a three-run homer to tie the game at six.
WilmU leads by six runs at the end of the fourth inning.
The Wildcats regained the lead in the top of the fourth inning by scoring five runs on five hits and one error to take an 11-6 edge.
Chase Fleming started the scoring in the inning by pushing home a run when reached first base with a walk.
Two plays later, Cam Trego hit an RBI triple and followed that by scoring on an error by the second baseman.
Senior infielder Nick Classie and Brandon Grygo each hit an RBI single at the end of the inning.
The Wildcats lead by three runs at the end of the eighth inning.
Lincoln climbed back in this game by pulling the score to 11-8 by scoring two runs in the fifth inning with a couple of RBI doubles.
The Lions cut the score to 11-9 in the sixth with another RBI double.
In the top of the seventh, Chase Fleming gave the Cats a 12-9 lead by hitting a single to right field.
Senior outfielder/pitcher Shawn Edevane pushed a home run for WilmU in the eighth, with a Sac Fly to extend the advantage to 13-9.
Lincoln sliced the lead to three runs (13-10) in the bottom of the eighth with a RBI single to left field.
WilmU takes home a 19-10 win!
The Cats powered their bats to another level in the ninth, scoring six runs on six hits to grab a 19-10 edge.
Chase Fleming and Shawn Edevane each hit a two-run homer in the early moments of the inning.
Garrett Quinn would hit a RBI double later in the inning and Graduate student infielder Josearmando Diaz had an RBI single near the end of the top of the ninth to seal a 19-10 win.
Pitching Recap:
Wilmington University used four pitchers in the game, including senior pitcher Scott Borgmann, who went 3.1 innings, gave up five hits, three runs, two earned runs, one walk, struck out seven hitters, and earned the win.
Game Recap GM 2:
Wilmington University leads by five runs at the end of the sixth inning.
After three innings of silence on the scoreboard from both teams, the Cats would change that in the top of the fourth inning.
WilmU batted in four runs on five hits in the fourth inning to take a 4-0 edge in the fourth.
Kory Pritchard started the scoring in the inning with an RBI single to center field.
Two plays later, Cam Trego blasted a two-run homer, and then Shawn Edevane followed that with a solo bomb to give their team a 4-0 lead.
Pritchard pushed in another run in the fifth with a Sac Fly to give his team a 5-0 advantage.
In the top of the sixth inning, WilmU’s lead expanded to seven when Brandon Grygo hit an RBI single, and then Senior infielder Tristan Schoendienst pushed home a run with an RBI double.
Lincoln scored their first two runs of the game in the bottom of the inning, with a homer and RBI single.
Wilmington takes home a 9-2 win!
The Wildcats would score two more runs in the seventh inning to seal a 9-2 win over the Lions.
