Season Review: University of Delaware’s John Camden

Our 2024-2025 season player review series continues with the University of Delaware men’s basketball team as the spotlight turns to Senior forward John Camden.

Camden led the team in scoring this season, with 16.8 points per game.

When the Blue Hens needed a bucket this season, the Delaware forward was the one they looked to, scoring double-digits in 29 games. Camden also recorded six games in which he scored over 20 points. The senior also netted four 30-point games this season.

Camden’s game-high in points came on March 9th in the CAA Semifinal, when he scored 36 points in a 100-78 win over William & Mary. He made 11 of his 15 shots, drained eight of 10 tries from the three-point line, and nailed six d on of seven free throws.

Another highlight performance for the Pennsylvania native came on December 28th versus St. John, where he recorded 35 points. Camden made 13 out of his 18 shots and hit nine of 11 attempts from the three-point line.

Scoring points was not the UD forward’s only skill this season, providing a consistent presence around the boards, and recording three double-doubles.

Camden was locked on the boards all season, leading the team in rebounds per game with 5.5.

The Downingtown native also knew how to find his teammates for a bucket this year, landing third on the team in assists per game with 2.1.

Opposing players did not like to see the Delaware senior coming, as he quick hands this season, landing second on the team in steals per game with 1.1.

Camden averaged 16.8 points per game, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 36 games.
