On Wednesday, the Goldey-Beacom College softball team swept the Chestnut Hill College Griffins. The Lightning won the first game 11-0 and picked up another victory 6-1.

Game Recap GM1:
Goldey-Beacom leads by five runs at the end of the second inning.
The Lightning struck first in this game by scoring five runs on three hits and one error to take a 5-0 edge in the second inning.
Freshman infielder Josalyn McMillan started the scoring in the inning by hitting a two-run double to right center.
Two plays later, Sophomore Utility player McKenna Frank slapped an RBI single up the middle of the field.
Senior Utility player Ariana Mirenda capped the inning off with an RBI with a Sac Bunt, but two runs would score on the play to give her team a 5-0 lead.
The Lightning takes home an 11-0 win!
Two innings later, Goldey-Beacom expanded their advantage to 11, when the team scored six runs on five hits, and two errors.
Senior pitcher Wynter Radcliffe started the scoring in the inning by slapping an RBI single to the shortstop.
On the next play, Ariana Mirenda scored on a wild pitch, and then junior infielder Rayna Pelcak followed that up with an RBI single to the shortstop.
Junior infielder Autumn Simpson would come up to the plate next, and hit an RBI single down the left-field line.
In the next two plays, Josalyn McMillan pushed in a run with a SAC Bunt and Simpson scored on a fielding error by the shortstop to give GBC an 11-0 lead.
Pitching Recap:
Senior pitcher Morgan McLane went five innings, gave up two hits, and two walks, struck out seven, and earned the win.
Game Recap GM 2:
Goldey-Beacom leads by two runs at the end of the third inning.
The Lightning struck first in this game with Autumn Simpson slugging a lead-off, solo homer to left field in the bottom of the second.
Senior infielder Bryn Bohmann pushed the team’s lead to two when she pushed home a run with a Sac Bunt.
The Lightning takes home a 6-1 win!
Fast forward to the bottom of the fifth inning, where Goldey-Beacom scored four runs on five hits, and one error to take a 6-0 edge.
Wynter Radcliffe and junior catcher/Utility player Emma Friel recorded an RBI single in the inning.
Senior outfielder Davi Jimenez hit an RBI triple to left center in the fifth.
Later in the inning, Radcliffe would score on a muffed throw by the second baseman.
Chestnut Hill scored their first run of the game in the sixth inning, but GBC still took home a 6-1 win!
Pitching Recap:
Senior pitcher Caitlyn Burch went seven innings, gave up three hits, one run, one run, one walk, struck out ten, and earned the win.
