The Wilmington University baseball team earned a sweep on Tuesday versus the Post University Eagles. WilmU won the first game 19-14 and took home the victory in the second match 14-12.

Game Recap GM1:
Wilmington University trails by five runs at the end of the second inning.
The Eagles would strike first in this game by scoring three runs on two singles in the bottom of the opening inning to take a 3-0 edge.
In the top of the second inning, WilmU would cut the deficit to one run (3-2) when Redshirt junior outfielder Cam Trego stole home, and senior infielder Nick Classie hit an RBI single to the pitcher.
Post answered back in the bottom of the inning, scoring four runs on four hits to push their advantage to 7-2.
The Wildcats would trail by one run after the third inning.
WilmU charged back in the top of the third, scoring four runs on six hits and one error to pull the deficit to 7-6.
Sophomore pitcher/first baseman Chase Fleming started the scoring in the inning with a two-run single to center field.
Two plays later, senior outfielder Kory Pritchard pushed in a run when he grounded out the pitcher.
Cam Trego approached the plate next and slapped an RBI single to right field.
WilmU leads by four runs at the end of the fifth inning.
The Wildcats would overtake the Eagles in the fourth inning by scoring five runs on four hits to grab an 11-7 advantage.
Kory Pritchard and Cam Trego each recorded an RBI single in the inning.
Sophomore shortstop/pitcher Garrett Quinn would hit a two-run double in the top of the fourth.
Sophomore outfielder/pitcher Brandon Grygo capped the inning off with an RBI double to left field.
WilmU would continue to pour on the runs in the fifth, scoring three runs on three hits, and two errors to expand their lead to 14-7.
Graduate student infielder Josearmando Diaz and Garrett Quinn each hit RBI single in the inning.
Cam Trego continued his hot game by pushing home a run with a Sac Fly.
In the bottom of the fifth, Post cut the Cats’ edge to four (14-10), when they scored three runs on three hits.
Wilmington University leads by six runs at the end of the eighth inning.
WilmU’s lead added three runs in the top of the sixth when Chase Fleming hit an RBI single and two runs scored on a fielding error by the left fielder to expand their team’s edge to 17-10.
The Wildcats’ lead continued to grow in the top of the eighth inning when Brandon Grygo scored after junior infielder Tyler Pirrung grounded out in a double play.
Post would grab a run (18-11) back in the bottom of the inning, with an RBI single to center field.
The Wildcats take home a 19-14 win!
In the top of the ninth inning, Garrett Quinn recorded his fourth RBI of the day with a single to field to give his team a 19-11 edge.
The Eagles scored three runs in the bottom of the inning, but Wilmington still took home a 19-14 victory.
Pitching Recap:
Wilmington University used six pitchers in the game, including redshirt freshman pitcher John Klepacki, who pitched three innings, gave up two hits, three runs, three earned runs, three walks, struck out five, and earned the win.
Senior pitcher Dom Marotta earned the save in the win by going 0.2 innings and struck out one batter.

Wilmington University trails by three runs at the end of the first inning.
The Wildcats lighted up the scoreboard first in this game, as the team scored four runs on two hits and two errors to grab a 4-0 edge in the top of the opening inning.
Brandon Grygo would score off a failed pickoff attempt in the early part of the inning.
Tyler Pirrung walked up to the plate next and slapped an RBI single center field.
Senior outfielder/pitcher Shawn Edevane capped the inning off with a two-run homer to right field.
The Eagles answered back in the bottom of the inning, scoring seven runs on three hits and one error to take a 7-4 edge.
WilmU leads by three runs at the end of the third inning.
The Wildcats bats powered up to another level in the top of the third, scoring nine runs on six hits and one error to grab a 13-7 advantage.
Shawn Edevane started the scoring in the inning when he pushed home a run when he reached first base with a walk.
Senior infielder Tristan Schoendienst came up to the plate next and slapped an RBI single to left center.
Nick Classie blasted a two-run double to right field and then sophomore shortstop/pitcher Justin Hernandez pushed home a runner with a SAC bunt.
In the next play, Classie would steal home to put WilmU’s lead at 10-7.
Brandon Grygo joined the scoring party by smoking an RBI triple down the right-field line.
Cam Trego also joined in the fun by hitting an RBI double to center field.
Tyler Pirrung capped the inning off by pushing home a run with a Sac bunt to give his team a 13-7 advantage.
Post would score three runs on a double to left center in the bottom of the inning to pull the deficit to 13-10.
Wilmington University wins 14-12!
Nick Classie would give the Cats a four-run (14-10) lead in the top of the fourth when he slugged an RBI double to center field.
The Eagles would add two more runs in the sixth inning, but Wilmington still took home a 14-12 victory.

Wilmington University used eight pitchers in the game, including junior pitcher Steven Mann, who pitched two innings, gave up two hits, three runs, three earned runs, one walk, struck out two, and earned the win.
