Our 2024-2025 season player review series continues with the Delaware State University women’s basketball team as the spotlight turns to Freshman forward Ericka Huggins.

Huggins was third on the team in scoring this season, with 6.8 points per game.

The Delaware State forward was a reliable scorer for the team this season, recording double-digits in eight games. She also had one 20-point this year.

Huggins’s game-high in points this season came on February 8th in the 84-55 win over Virginia-Lynchburg, where she had 20 points. She made eight of her 15 shots, drained three of seven tries from the three-point line, and nailed one of two free throws.

The Delaware native had the boards locked down this season, landing second on the team in rebounds per game with 7.1. She recorded six double-doubles this year. Huggins also had seven games where she posted double-digits in rebounds.

The Hornets guard was someone to be feared for opposing shooters, landing second on the team in blocks per game with 0.9.

Huggins averaged 6.8 points per game, 7.1 rebounds, and 0.5 assists in 25 games.
