The Wilmington University softball team swept the Molloy University Lions on Sunday, with a 4-1 win in the first game. The Cats also picked up an 8-5 victory in the second match.

Game Recap GM 1:
Wilmington University takes home a 4-1 win!
The Wildcats would light up the scoreboard first in this game when Senior catcher Bella Barnes hit an RBI single to third base to give the team a 1-0 edge in the top of the opening inning.
Molloy tied the game up at one when they hit an RBI single to right center in the bottom of the second.
In the fourth inning, the WilmU regained the lead by scoring two runs on three hits to take a 3-1 advantage.
Graduate student catcher Emma Zimmerman pushed home a run when she reached base by getting hit by a pitch in the inning.
Senior outfielder Tristyn Stewart stepped up to the plate next and knocked home a run with an RBI single to second base.
Freshman Utility player Sydney Hatch expanded the lead to 4-1 when she hit a RBI single up the middle of the field.
Pitching Recap:
Senior pitcher Kylee Gunkel went seven innings, one hit, one run, one earned run, one walk, one strikeout, and earned the win.

Wilmington University takes home an 8-5 win!
The Wildcats struck first in this game when two runs went after Freshman third baseman Haley Grygo reached first base on a throwing error to give her team a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.
Two innings later, Sydney Hatch gave the team a 4-0 edge when she slapped a two-run double to right center.
Fast forward to the top of the seventh inning, when Hatch widen the lead to seven for Wilmington with a three-run homer to left field.
Junior catcher/first baseman Rylee Maloney also hit an RBI double down the left-field line to give her team an 8-0 an advantage in the seventh.
Molloy made it interesting in the bottom of the inning by scoring five runs, but the Cats would still take home an 8-5 win.
Pitching Recap:
Graduate student pitcher Delani Sheehan went seven innings, gave up nine hits, five runs, five earned runs, two walks, struck out five, and earned the win.
