Bohmann & Lowry combine for 8 RBIs in Goldey-Beacom’s sweep over Bowie State

On Sunday, the Goldey-Beacom College softball team swept the Bowie State University Bulldogs. The Lightning won the first game 7-2 and picked up another victory 3-1.

Game Recap GM1:

Goldey-Beacom leads by five runs at the end of the second inning.

Bowie State would strike first in this game, as the team scored a run (1-0) in the top of the opening inning with an RBI single to center field.

The Lightning responded in the bottom of the inning by scoring four runs on four hits to grab a 4-1 advantage.

Freshman Catcher Bri Cole started the scoring in the inning by slapping a two-run single down the right-field line.

Senior infielder Alex Lowry came up to bat next and hit a two-run double to left field.

Two innings later, Senior infielder Bryn Bohmann pushed GBC’s edge to five (6-1) when she smoked a two-run double to center field.

The Lightning takes home a 7-2 win!

 Bryn Bohmann would record her third RBI in the bottom of the fourth when she hit a double to left center to give the Lightning a 7-1 advantage.

The Bulldogs added a run in the seventh inning, but Goldey would still take home a 7-2 victory.

Pitching Recap:

Senior pitcher Morgan McLane went seven innings, gave up seven hits, two runs, one earned run, struck six out, hit one batter, and earned the win.

Goldey-Beacom takes home a 3-1 win!

The Lightning would strike first in this game, as the team scored three runs on two hits to take a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the opening inning.

Bryn Bohmann started the scoring off in the inning with an RBI Sac Bunt.

Three plays later, Alex Lowry hit a two-run double down the right-field line to give her team a 3-0 edge.

Bowie State put a run on the board in the fifth inning, but Goldey-Beacom still took home a 3-1 win!

Senior pitcher Caitlyn Burch went seven innings, gave up four hits, one run, one earned run, five walks, struck out nine, and earned the win.
