On Saturday, the Goldey-Beacom College softball team earned a split versus Dominican University New York Chargers. The Lightning lost the first game 5-1 and won the second match 14-0.

The Lightning leads by five runs at the end of the third inning.
Goldey-Beacom would strike first in this game when junior infielder Rayna Pelcak hit an RBI single to center field to give her team a 1-0 advantage.
Two innings later, GBC scored four runs on two hits and one error to take a 5-0 edge.
Freshman Catcher Bri Cole and junior infielder Autumn Simpson each had an RBI double in the inning.
Senior infielder Alex Lowry pushed in two runs after she reached first base on a fielding error by the right fielder to extend her team’s lead to five.
Goldey-Beacom leads by ten runs at the end of the fourth inning.
The Lightning continued to pour on the runs in the fourth inning by scoring five runs on three hits to take a 10-0 edge.
Junior outfielder Chasedy Johnson led the inning off with a solo homer to left field.
Three plays later, Senior infielder Bryn Bohmann slapped an RBI single to left field. On the next play, she would score on a fielder’s choice.
Later in the inning, Alex Lowry smoked a two-run double to center field to give her team a 10-0 advantage.
The Lightning takes home a 14-0 win!
In the fifth inning, Bryn Bohmann and Alex Lowry both recorded a two-run single to seal a 14-0 victory for Goldey-Beacom.
Pitching Recap:
Senior pitcher Morgan McLane went five innings, gave up one hit, five walks, struck out five, and earned the win.
