The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team swept the Holy Family Tigers University on Saturday with a 13-0 win in the first game and a 4-1 victory in the second. The Lightning has now won 13 games in a row.

Game Recap GM1:
Goldey-Beacom leads by four runs at the end of the fifth inning.
The Lightning struck first in this game, as the team scored three runs on two hits and two errors to take a 3-0 advantage at the end of the second inning.
Freshman infielder Brent Williams started the scoring in the inning by hitting a two-run single to left field.
Senior outfielder Matt Benner scored on an error by the shortstop on the very next play.
Three innings later, Sophomore infielder Bobby Stewart gave the Bolts a 4-0 edge with a solo homer to right field.
The Lightning takes home a 13-0 win!
Goldey-Beacom continued to pour on the runs in the top of the sixth by scoring four on three hits and one error to take an 8-0 lead.
Junior outfielder Anthony Charles started the scoring off in the inning by blasting a solo homer to right field.
Three plays later, Senior infielder Jaden Dickerson stole third and then scored on an error.
Later in the inning, Matt Benner smoked a two-run single to left field to push the Lightning’s advantage to 8-0.
The scoring blitz continued in the top of the seventh when the team scored five runs on four hits and two errors to seal a 13-0 win.
GBC’s first run of the inning came from Charles, who stole third and then scored on a throwing error by the catcher.
Bobby Stewart and senior catcher Adam McEvoy each had an RBI double in the inning.
Later in the top of the seventh, Brent Williams and Senior outfielder Christian Petrillo each recorded an RBI single.
Pitching Recap:
Junior pitcher Nate Miller went seven innings, gave up two hits, two walks, struck out seven, and earned the win.

Goldey-Beacom trails by one run at the end of the second inning.
Holy Family struck first in this game when they launched a lead-off solo homer to give them a 1-0 edge.
The Lightning takes home a 4-1 win!
Goldey-Beacom would grab a three-run lead (4-1) in the top of the fourth inning when the team scored four runs on four hits.
Adam McEvoy started the scoring off in the inning, with a two-run double to left field.
Senior infielder Dante DiSabatino would come up to the plate next, and hit a RBI double to right field.
Matt Benner would cap the inning off with a single to center field to give the team a 4-1 lead.

Goldey-Beacom used three pitchers in the game, including senior pitcher Mikey Hawbaker, who pitched five innings, gave up five hits, one run, one earned run, one walk, struck out four, and earned the win.
Senior pitcher Wyatt Atkinson pitched 0.1 innings and earned the save.
