The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team swept the Lincoln University (PA) Lions on Sunday with a 16-8 win in the first game and a 15-3 victory in the second.

Game Recap GM1:
Goldey-Beacom trails by three runs at the end of the fourth inning.
The Lightning struck first in this game when Junior outfielder Anthony Charles blasted a two-run homer out of the park to give the team a 2-0 lead.
Lincoln answered back in the bottom of the inning with a two-run single to tie the game at two.
Fast forward to the fourth inning, where the Lions grabbed a 5-3 edge with a three-run homer.
The Lightning leads by one run at the end of the fifth inning.
Goldey-Beacom charged back in the top of the fifth inning by scoring five runs on three hits and one error to take a 7-5 advantage.
Freshman infielder Brent Williams started off the scoring in the inning with an RBI single to the shortstop.
Senior outfielder Christian Petrillo would come up to the plate next and push home a run when he grounded out to the shortstop.
Four plays later, Senior infielder Jaden Dickerson hit a two-run double to left field.
Senior outfielder Mitch Jolikko capped the scoring off in the fifth with an RBI double to right center to push GBC’s lead to 7-5.
In the bottom of the inning, the Lions cut the score to one run (7-6) with a RBI single to right field.
GBC leads by eight runs at the end of the sixth inning.
The Lightning’s lead ballooned to eight runs (14-6) in the top of the sixth inning, when the team scored seven runs on three hits and one error.
Brent Williams pushed home the first run of the inning when he reached first base on an error by the pitcher.
Two plays later, Anthony Charles slugged an RBI double to center field.
Later in the inning, Mitch Jolikko, Sophomore infielder Bobby Stewart, Senior infielder Dante DiSabatino, and Senior outfielder Matt Benner each earned an RBI when they reached first base by a walk pushing a runner home.
Stewart would then score on a wild pitch to extend Goldey’s lead to 14-6.
Goldey-Beacom takes home a 16-8 win!
Lincoln would cut into the Lightning’s lead (14-7) in the bottom of the seventh when the team scored a run on a wild pitch.
Brent Williams would record his fourth RBI of the day in the top of the eighth with a two-run double to right center to give the Bolts a 16-7 advantage.
The Lions would score one more run in the bottom of the inning, but GBC still took home a 16-8 win.

Goldey-Beacom used four pitchers in the game, including junior pitcher Tommy Federici, who pitched one inning, gave up one hit, one run, one earned run, two walks, two strikeouts, hit one pitcher, and earned the win.

Goldey-Beacom trails by three runs at the end of the second inning.
Lincoln struck first in this game by scoring two runs in the bottom of the opening inning with a two-run single to take a 2-0 lead.
In the next inning, the Lions pushed their edge to three with a solo homer.
The Lightning takes a three-run lead at the end of the fourth inning.
Freshman infielder Zach Smethers would tie the game up at three in the top of the third inning with one swing. Smethers smoked a three-run homer out of the park.
In the fourth, Brent Williams and Anthony Charles, each hit an RBI double to push their team’s edge to 5-3.
Jaden Dickerson capped the inning off with an RBI single to take the score to 6-3.
GBC leads by ten runs at the end of the sixth inning.
Goldey-Beacom continued to pour on the runs in the fifth inning when Bobby Stewart slugged a two-run homer to take an 8-3 advantage.
The Lightning’s lead would propel to ten in the sixth inning when the team scored five runs.
Zach Smethers started the scoring in the inning with a two-run double to right field.
Two plays later, Mitch Jolikko hit an RBI single to center field.
Stewart would come up to the plate and hit his second two-run homer of the game to give his team a 13-3 lead.
Goldey-Beacom takes home a 15-3 win!
The Bolts would score two more runs in the top of the seventh to seal a 15-3 win over the Lions.
Pitching Recap:
Freshman pitcher Zach Davis went 5.2 innings, gave up three hits, three runs, three earned runs, six walks, struck out five, hit one batter, and earned the win.
