Goldey-Beacom’s pitching dominates in sweep over Bloomfield

On Saturday, the Goldey-Beacom College softball team swept the Bloomfield College Bears in two games (5-0 & 4-0).

Game Recap GM1:

Goldey-Beacom takes home a 5-0 win!

The Lightning struck first in this game, scoring two runs on three hits in the second inning to grab a 2-0 edge.

Sophomore utility player Chaneyl Johnson started the scoring in the inning with an RBI double to left field.

Junior outfielder Chasedy Johnson came up next as she hit an RBI triple to right center.

In the next inning, Senior pitcher Wynter Radcliffe blasted a two-run homer to center field to give GBC a 4-0 advantage.

Fast forward to the top of the seventh inning, where Radcliffe pushed in her third RBI of the day with a single through the right side to seal a 5-0 win.

Pitching Recap:

Senior pitcher Caitlyn Burch went seven innings, gave up four hits, hit one pitcher, and earned the win.

Game Recap GM 2:

Goldey-Beacom takes home a 4-0 win!

All the scoring in this game came in the top of the fifth inning, when the Lightning pushed home four runs on three hits, and two errors to take a 4-0 edge.

Freshman infielder Josalyn McMillan started the scoring in the inning by slapping a two-run double to left field.

Later in the inning, Senior utility player Ariana Mirenda scored on an error to push her team’s advantage to three.

Freshman catcher Bri Cole would cap the inning off by pushing home a run when she grounded out to second base to seal a 5-0 win.

Pitching Recap:

Senior pitcher Morgan McLane went seven innings, gave up one hit, struck out 17 batters, and earned the win.
