The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team swept the Georgian Court University Lions on Tuesday with a 14-2 win in the first game and a 9-2 victory in the second.

Game Recap GM 1:
Goldey-Beacom leads by one at the end of the second inning.
The Lions would light up the scoreboard first in this matchup, as a solo home run in the top of the first inning would give them a 1-0 edge.
In the bottom of the inning, the Lightning tied the game up at one when Senior outfielder Christian Petrillo slugged a lead-off solo homer to left center.
GBC would grab the lead (2-1) in the bottom of the second inning when Senior outfielder Matt Benner slapped an RBI double to left field.
The Lightning leads by five runs at the end of the fourth inning.
Georgian Court would tie the game up at two in the top of the third inning with an RBI single to right field.
In the bottom of the third inning, Junior outfielder Anthony Charles slammed a two-run homer to right field to give Goldey-Beacom a 4-2 advantage.
The Lightning continued to add to their lead in the bottom of the fourth inning by scoring three runs on two hits to take a 7-2 edge.
Senior infielder Dante DiSabatino pushed in a run with a single through the left side.
Later in the inning, Freshman Brent Williams popped a two-run double to left center to take the score to 7-2.
GBC takes home a 14-2 win!
Fast forward to the bottom of the sixth inning, where Goldey’s bats were firing with no mercy, as the team scored seven runs on four hits to take a 14-2 lead.
Brent Williams hit his third RBI of the day in the sixth when he hit a double down the left-field line.
Christian Petrillo would step up to the plate next and fired off a two-run triple to right center to give his team a 10-2 edge.
Five plays later, senior outfielder Mitch Jolikko slapped a two-run double to left field.
Dante DiSabatino capped off the scoring in the inning with a two-run single that sealed a 14-2 win.
Pitching Recap:
Freshman pitcher George Starr went six innings, gave up three hits, two runs, two earned runs, one walk, hit three batters, struck one batter out, and earned the win.
Junior pitcher Alex Cross went one inning, gave up one hit, and hit two batters.

It would be the Lightning, who struck first in this match as the team scored two runs on two hits and one error to take a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning.
Sophomore infielder Bobby Stewart started the scoring in this inning with an RBI single through the left side.
Senior catcher Nick Harkins would be up next to plate, as he pushed home a run with a Sac Fly.
The Lightning take home a 9-2 win!
Goldey-Beacom’s bats would explode in the bottom of the third inning when the team scored seven runs on five hits to take a 9-0 advantage.
Senior infielder Jaden Dickerson started the scoring in the inning with an RBI single through the left side.
Three plays later, senior catcher Adam McEvoy slugged a two-run double down the left-field line.
Bobby Stewart would be up next and hit his third RBI of the game with a two-run triple to right field. On the following play, he would score on a balk.
Christian Petrillo capped the scoring off in the inning by pushing home a run with a Sac Fly to extend the team’s edge to 9-0.
The Lions posted a run in the fourth and the sixth inning but Goldey-Beacom would still take home a 9-2 victory.
Pitching Recap:
Junior pitcher Kory Williams went six innings, gave up seven innings, two earned runs, two runs, two walks, struck eight batters out, and earned the win.
Freshman pitcher Britton Wildasin went one inning and gave up zero runs.
