The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team earned its tenth victory of the season on Wednesday, winning 9-2 over the Queen College Knights.

The Lightning leads by three runs at the end of the fifth inning.
Goldey-Beacom would get on the board first in this matchup when Senior infielder Braden Kolmansberger scored on a throwing error by the catcher to give his team a 1-0 edge in the opening inning.
Two innings later, Queens’ College tied the game up at one when Robert Jacobsen slugged a solo homer to right field.
GBC regained the lead in the top of the fifth inning when the team scored three runs on one hit and three errors to take a 4-1 advantage.
Senior outfielder Matt Benner started the scoring in the inning by going home on a fielding error by the Knights’ center fielder.
Five plays later, senior infielder Jaden Dickerson smacked a two-run single to center field to give his team a 4-1 lead.
Goldey-Beacom takes home a 9-2 win!
In the top of the eighth inning, the Lightning pushed their advantage to six runs(7-1). Senior outfielder Christian Petrillo had an RBI double in the inning, and another run scored during the play.
Later, at the top of the eighth, senior outfielder Mitch Jolikko slapped an RBI double to the right field to push the team’s lead to 7-1.
The Knights cut the deficit to five runs (7-2) in the bottom of the inning with an RBI single through the left side of the field.
Goldey-Beacom added two more runs in the top of the ninth when Braden Kolmansberger hit an RBI single down the left-field line, and then Junior outfielder Anthony Charles pushed in a run with a Sac Fly to take the score to 9-2.

The Lightning used four pitchers in the game, including junior pitcher Kevin Dillon, who went three innings, gave up one hit, struck out four, and earned the win.
