On Sunday, the Goldey-Beacom College softball earned a sweep with a 5-2 win over the Ursuline College Arrows and a 5-1 victory over the Thomas More University Saints.

Game Recap GM1:
Goldey-Beacom leads by one run at the end of the third inning.
The Lightning started the scoring in this game when Senior infielder Bryn Bohmann doubled in the opening inning to give the team a 1-0 edge.
Thomas More answered back in the top of the third inning with a Sac ground out to tie the game up at one.
Bohmann pushed home another run in this game in the third when she reached base on an error to take the score to 2-1.
The Lightning takes home a 5-1 win!
Sophomore Utility player McKenna Frank added to the Bolts’ lead in the bottom of the fourth inning, with a RBI single to take the score to 3-1.
In the next inning, Senior infielder Alex Lowry expanded GBC’s edge to three runs (4-1) when she pushed home a runner with a Sac Fly.
Fast forward to the bottom of the sixth inning, where Junior outfielder Chasedy Johnson helped seal a 5-1 win when she stole home.
Pitching Recap:
Senior pitcher Morgan McLane went seven innings, gave up five hits, one run, one earned run, three walks, struck out seven batters, and earned the win.
Game Recap GM2:
Goldey-Beacom leads by three runs at the end of the sixth inning.
After only collecting one hit in the first three innings of this game, the Lightning would push in two runs on two hits in the top of the fourth inning.
Alex Lowry pushed the first run home for the Bolts with an RBI single to center field.
Three plays later, another run would score on a fielder’s choice to give the team a 2-0 edge.
Fast forward to the sixth inning, where Lowry would be back at it again by slapping an RBI single to the shortstop to give GBC a 3-0 lead.
The Lightning takes home a 5-2 win!
Goldey-Beacom extended their advantage to five runs in the top of the seventh when Senior Utility player Ariana Mirenda hit an RBI triple to center field and Junior outfielder Delaney Insinga had a RBI single to left.
Ursuline would score two runs in the bottom of the inning, but the Lightning hung on to win 5-2.
Pitching Recap:
Senior pitcher Cat Nelson went 6.1 innings, gave up four hits, two runs, two earned runs, three walks, struck out three batters, and earned the win.
Junior pitcher Alesia Doctor went 0.2 innings, gave up two hits, one walk, and struck one batter out.
