The University of Delaware men’s basketball team continues to plow through their opponents in the Coastal Athletic Association Tournament, as the team defeated the William & Mary Tribe 100-78 in the quarterfinals on Sunday. The Blue Hens will now take on the top-seeded Towson Tigers on Monday.
Senior forward John Camden led the team in scoring in the win with 36 points. He was finding the basket with ease in this game by draining 11 of his 15 shots. Camden also nailed eight of his ten shots from the three-point line.
Four other Hens players scored in double digits: Senior guard Erik Timko (13), Freshman guard Izaiah Pasha (12), Junior guard Cavan Reilly (11), and Senior guard Niels Lane (10).
Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included blocks (7-5), and assists (23-16).
UD also had the advantage in shooting, with the team boasting 55.0 (33-60) and William & Mary 34.8(24-69). The Blue Hens also bested the Tribe from the three-point line, with the team shooting 62.1( 18-29) and William & Mary shooting 32.4(11-34).

Delaware started the game by taking a 13-9 advantage with 15:56 remaining in the opening period. UD drained three shots from the three-point line during that time, which came from John Camden, Cavan Reilly, and Erik Timko.
Fast forward to the 9:15 minute mark, where Kyle Pulliam rocked the rim with a dunk to give William & Mary a 31-25 edge.
UD punched back by going on a 12-4 run to grab a 37-35 lead with 5:57 left in the first half. The Hens had the three-pointers flying during this time, with Izaiah Pasha, and Timko each hitting one. Camden nailed two during that run.
The Tribe outscored Delaware 14-10 for the rest of the opening period to take a 49-47 edge into halftime.
Delaware takes home a 100-78 win!
UD did not mess around in the second half. The team outscored William & Mary 53-29 to seal a 100-78 upset victory and advance to the CAA semifinals.
John Camden was the main man for the Blue Hens in the second half, as the Tribe had no answers for the senior forward scoring 21 of the team’s 53 points.
