On Friday, the Goldey-Beacom College softball team earned a 5-4 win over the Cedarville University Yellow Jackets.

Goldey-Beacom leads by one run at the end of the first inning.
Senior infielder Bryn Bohmann gave the Lightning the lead in the bottom of the opening inning with an RBI double to left center to take a 1-0 edge.
The Lightning holds a three-run lead at the end of the fourth inning.
Cedarville grabbed a 2-1 advantage with a two-run single in the top of the second inning.
Fast forward to the fourth inning, where Goldey-Beacom regained the lead (5-2) by scoring four runs on five hits and one error.
Senior outfielder Bri Snover and Senior infielder Alex Lowry started the scoring off in the inning by going home on a throwing error from the pitcher.
Sophomore Utility player McKenna Frank stepped up to the plate next and slapped an RBI single to left field.
Three plays later, Junior infielder Autumn Simpson hit an RBI single through the right side of the field to give their team a 5-2 advantage.
Goldey-Beacom takes home a 5-4 win!
Things would get interesting in the top of the seventh inning when Yellow Jackets hit a two-run triple to cut the deficit to one run (5-4). The Lightning would hold on to take home a 5-4 victory.

Senior pitcher Caitlyn Burch went seven innings, gave up eight hits, four runs, two earned runs, one walk, struck six batters out, and earned the win.
