The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team recorded their sixth win of the season on Tuesday with a 7-6 victory over the Bloomsburg University Huskies.

Goldey-Beacom leads by three runs at the end of the third inning.
Bloomsburg started the scoring in this matchup, as they took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning with an RBI single through the right side of the field.
The Lightning would open the bottom half of the inning with a ground out, a single to through the right side, and then senior outfielder Christian Petrillo would get on base by getting hit by a pitch. The next two plays were a walk and then a strikeout.
Senior infielder Jaden Dickerson came up to the plate with the bases loaded and would tie the game up at one when he earned a walk.
The Huskies regained the lead in the top of the second inning by getting a runner home on a wild pitch to take the score to 2-1.
GBC responded in the bottom of the second inning by scoring three runs on two hits to grab a 4-2 edge.
Senior infielder Braden Kolmansberger started the scoring off in the inning with an RBI single to center field.
Freshman infielder Zach Smethers broke the tie by smoking a two-run single to left field to give the Lightning a 4-2 advantage.
Kolmansberger earned his second RBI of the day when he pushed in a run with a ground out to take the score to 5-2.
The Lightning lost the lead, and the game tied up at six in the fifth inning.
Bloomsburg cut the deficit to two runs (5-3) in the fourth inning when they pushed a run home with a ground out.
Goldey answered back in the bottom of the inning with an RBI ground out of their own to expand their lead to 6-3.
In the top of the fifth inning, the Huskies would score three runs to tie the game at six.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Lightning would halt Bloomsburg’s momentum when Freshman infielder Brent Williams hit a two-out, RBI single to right field to give the team a 7-6 edge.
The pitching did the rest by giving up only one hit in the next three innings to seal a 7-6 win.

The Lightning had five pitchers in the game, which started with junior pitcher Connor Blence, who went 3.1 innings, gave up four hits, three runs, one earned run, two walks, hit one batter, and struck out five batters.
Freshman pitcher Zach Davis recorded the win by going 2.2 innings, giving up two hits, one walk, and striking four batters out.
Senior pitcher Gage Bendix went 1.1 innings, gave up one walk, struck out one batter, hit a batter, and earned the save.
