The Wilmington University men’s basketball team earned their eighth victory of the season on Saturday with a 92-76 win over the Chestnut Hill Griffins.
Freshman guard Denim Perkins led the team in scoring in the win with 26 points.
Two other Wilmington players who scored in double digits were Freshman guard Jaylin Horsey (24), and Graduate student guard Manir Waller (13).
WilmU had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included bench points (36-31), fast-break points (10-6), points in the paint (42-38), points off of turnovers (16-13), rebounds (44-39),
Wilmington University also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 51.5% (34-66) and Chestnut Hill shooting 39.1% (25-64). The Wildcats were also the better team at the three-point line in this game, as the team shot 45.8%(11-24), and the Griffins shot 22.7%(5-22).

Wilmington University leads by five points at the end of the first half.
Denim Perkins came out in the early minutes of this game by sinking two shots from the three-point line to help the Wildcats take an 8-3 edge with 17:09 remaining in the opening period.
Chestnut Hill would punch back by outscoring WilmU 9-2 to grab a 12-10 advantage with 14:25 left in the first half.
In the next 13 minutes and 15 seconds, the intensity of the game went up to another level with the lead bouncing back and forth between the two teams and the score tied ten times.
Starting at the 38-second mark, the Wildcats would break the score tied at 39 by scoring five straight points to end the first half with a 44-39.
The Wildcats take home a 92-76 victory!
Fast forward to the 11:04 minute mark, where Jaylin Horsey drained a three-pointer to WilmU a nine-point edge (62-53).
The Griffins would strike back by scoring six straight points to slice the deficit to three points (62-59) with 9:39 left in the game.
Denim Perkins was strong down the stretch for the Cats scoring 14 of the team’s 30 points to seal a 92-76 victory over Chestnut Hill. During that same time, WilmU was locked on the boards by collecting 14 rebounds.
