The Goldey-Beacom College men’s basketball team took home their sixth victory of the season Wednesday with a 90-84 win over the Georgian Court University Lions.
Senior forward David Robinson led the team in scoring in the win with 22 points.
Four other Goldey-Beacom players who scored in double digits in the win were Junior forward Zayon Marsh (15), Freshman guard Tre Powell (15), Freshman guard Anthony Akande (11), and Junior guard Shane Taylor (10).
The Lightning had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included points in the paint (44-22), points off of turnovers (20-18), second-chance points (14-10), fast-break points (11-7), bench points (19-3), and rebounds (38-30).
Goldey-Beacom also had the advantage in shooting, with the team shooting 50.9% (29-57) and Georgian Court shooting 40.7%( 24-59).

Goldey-Beacom leads by four points at the end of the first half.
In the first six minutes and 55 seconds of this game, it would be an intense battle with the lead bouncing back and forth with the widest margin being four points. Goldey-Beacom held the edge for the last two minutes and 92 seconds during that time that closed with the taking a 16-15 advantage.
The Lightning pushed their lead further by going on an 8-0 run to grab a 24-15 edge with 9:47 remaining in the opening period. Zayon Marsh had three points and one rebound during this time.
Fast forward to the 5:17 minute mark, where Anthony Akande would make a layup to give GBC a 33-22 advantage.
Georgian Court would end the first half on a good note by dashing off on a 15-8 run to cut the deficit to four points (41-37).
The Lightning takes home a 90-84 victory!
In the early minutes of the second half, Goldey-Beacom would put some breathing room in their lead by taking a 60-52 edge with 12:04 remaining in the game.
The Lions would come roaring back by outscoring GBC 11-2 to grab a 63-62 advantage with 9:02 left in the second half.
It would be a tight one in the next six minutes and 48 seconds, as the lead changed hands four times and the score was tied three times. The Lightning would cap off that time with David Robinson making a layup to give his team a 73-71 edge with 2:56 remaining in the game.
GBC would add 17 more points in the rest of the second half to seal a 90-84 victory over Georgian Court.
