The University of Delaware men’s basketball team earned their third win of the season on Sunday, with a 100-94 victory over the Yale University Bulldogs.
Senior forward John Camden led the Blue Hens in scoring in the win with 30 points.
Four other Hens players who scored in double-digits were senior guards Tahron Allen (11), Erik Timko (13), Freshman Izaiah Pasha (17), and Junior guard Cavan Reilly (23).
Delaware had the advantage in multiple categories in the game, which included fast-break points (21-7), blocks (3-1), assists (17-16), and rebounds (34-31).
UD also had the advantage in shooting, with the team boasting 52.7
(29-55) and Yale 47.8(32-67). The Blue Hens also bested the Bulldogs from the three-point line, with the team shooting 47.1%(16-34) and Yale shooting 27.8%(5-18). Delaware also outshot the Bulldogs at the free-throw line, with the team shooting 86.7 (26-30), and Yale 83.3 (25-30).

Delaware leads by five points at the end of the first half.
Yale would run out to a 6-3 edge to start this game, but the Hens answered back by outscoring the Bulldogs 8-5 to tie the match at 11 with 15:07 remaining in the opening half.
The Blue Hens continued to flex their muscles, scoring six straight points to take a 17-11 advantage with 12:10 left in the first half. John Camden, Tahron Allen, and Freshman Izaiah Pasha scored all six points on the run.
Sixty-eight seconds later, Yale would punch right back by outscoring UD 13-8 to close the deficit to one point (25-24) with 9:25 remaining in the opening half.
Delaware would not give up their lead. They went on a 15-7 run to grab a 40-31 lead with 3:33 remaining in the first half. Junior guard Cavan Reilly had the hot hand during this time, scoring seven of the team’s 15 points.
The Bulldogs outscored the Hens 11-7 for the rest of the first half to slice the deficit to five points (47-42) heading into halftime.
UD takes home a 100-94 victory!!
Delaware came out on fire in the early minutes of the second by dashing off on a 14-2 run to take a 61-44 edge with 16:48 left in the game. UD drained four shots from the three-point line during this time, which came from Tahron Allen, senior guard Erik Timko sunk one, and Cavan Reilly hit two.
Fast forward to the 8:54 minute mark, where Yale’s Casey Simmons would hit a layup and a free throw to pull the score within four points (72-68).
Seventeen seconds later, the Hens cushioned their lead by outscoring Yale 17-9 to take an 89-77 advantage with 2:47 remaining in the second half. Tahron Allen and Izaiah Pasha gave the Bulldogs defense trouble, scoring ten of the 17 points.
The Hens would add 11 more points to their score to seal a 100-89 victory over the Bulldogs.
