Faillon records a hat-trick in Wilmington University’s 6-1 win over Bridgeport

The Wilmington University men’s soccer team earned the seventh win of the season on Saturday with a 6-1 victory over the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights.

The Wildcats would strike first in this matchup, as freshman defender

Robert Seow found the back of the net to give his team a 1-0 lead around the 13-minute mark. Redshirt freshman defender assisted Seow on the goal.

The Wildcats take home a 6-1 win!

In the second half of this game, it was WilmU’s Graduate student forward Theo Faillon’s show, as he scored three goals in the period for a hat-trick. Faillon scored on a Penalty Kick at the 56-minute mark, then had goals at the 74th and 77th mark.

Bridgeport would get on board in the second half, as Joao Miranda found the net at the 60-minute mark.

Faillon wouldn’t be the only Wilmington player to score in the second half, as Senior midfielder Diego Ramirez, and Redshirt Freshman forward Jhamaleek Porter each recorded a goal in the late minutes of the game to seal a 6-1 win.

The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were Robert Seow, Theo Faillon, Diego Ramirez,  Jhamaleek Porter, Graduate student midfielder Lenny Greifenberg, freshman defender Mylan Le Baut, junior midfielder Alex Tarway,  and sophomore goalkeeper Charlie Phillips.

Seow had one shot, one shot at the goal, and scored one goal in the game.

Faillon had five shots, three shots at the goal, and scored three goals in the win.

Ramirez had five shots, two shots at the goal, and scored one goal in the game.

Porter had two shots, one shot at the goal, and scored one goal in the victory.

Greifenberg had three shots and one assist in the game.

Le Baut had one shot, and two assists in the win.

Tarway had five shots, four shots at the goal, and one assist in the victory.

Phillips allowed zero goals in 90 minutes and had one save in the match.
