The Wilmington University men’s soccer team earned their fourth victory of the season on Saturday, with a 3-2 win over the Bloomfield College Bears.

Wilmington University leads by two at the end of the first half.
Bloomfield would strike first in this matchup, as Christian Jhon Cruz would find the net at the 14-minute mark to give his team a 1-0 lead. Yefry Rodriguez assisted on Jhon Cruz’s goal.
Four minutes later, WilmU would tie the game up at one when Junior midfielder Tsubasa Abe blasted the ball in for the score. Graduate student forward Theo Faillon assisted on Abe’s goal.
Then, at the 31-minute mark, Faillon scored a goal of his own off a rebound to give the Cats a 2-1 edge.
In the last minutes of the first half, Faillon earns his second goal of the day to expand WilmU’s advantage to 3-1. Freshman forward Michiharu Takanashi assisted on Faillon’s score.
The Wildcats take home a 3-2 win!
Bloomfield would have the only score of the second half, as Christian Jhon Cruz pushed in the second goal of the day at the 86 Christian Jhon Cruz minute mark, but the Wildcats would still hang on for a 3-2 victory.
Stats and standouts:
The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were Michiharu Takanashi, Theo Faillon, Tsubasa Abe, and sophomore goalkeeper Charlie Phillips.
Takanashi had six shots, two shots at the goal, and one assist in the game.
Faillon had five shots, two shots at the goal, one assist, and two goals in the victory.
Abe had four shots, two shots at the goal, and one goal in the win.
Phillips allowed two goals in 90 minutes and had two saves in the win.
