Dixon’s big day helps Goldey-Beacom to a 7-2 victory over Lincoln

The Goldey-Beacom women’s soccer team earned their fourth victory of the season on Tuesday with a 7-2 win over the Lincoln University (PA) Lions.

Goldey-Beacom leads by two goals at the end of the first half.

The Lightning wouldn’t waste any time getting on the scoreboard in this match, as the first score would happen around the 27-second mark when Senior forward Sia Diakos blasted the ball in for a score to give her team a 1-0 lead. Freshman forward Ryley Dixon assisted on Diakos’s goal.

At the 14-minute mark, it was Dixon’s turn to score a goal, as she found the back of the net to push GBC’s edge to 2-0. Senior defender/forward Angela Lee assisted on Dixon’s score.

Two minutes later, Lincoln would get on the board for the first time in the game, as Jordan Allison scored the goal for her team to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Seconds later, Goldey-Beacom would get back-to-back goals when senior midfielder/forward Jenna Campagna and Dixon found the back of the net to expand their team’s advantage to 4-1. sophomore midfielder Miley Jones assisted on Campagna’s goal. Campagna and senior Tori Nilles assisted on Dixon’s goal.

In the late minutes of the first half, the Lions’ Grace Quiah would get a goal to slice the deficit to 4-2.

The Lightning takes home a 7-2 win!

Five minutes into the second half, Sia Diakos would score her second goal of the day to extend GBC’s edge to 5-2. Ryley Dixon earned her second assist on the day on this goal.

At the 64-minute mark, Dixon would be back to scoring, as she would get her third goal of the day to expand her team’s lead to 6-2. Junior defender Sofia Bolado Vega assisted on Dixon’s goal.

In the later minutes of the second half, Dixon would push in her fourth goal of the game to seal a 7-2 victory over Lincoln.
