The University of Delaware’s football team moved to 6-0 on the season as they took down the University of Maine Black Bears 44-21 on Saturday.
The offensive standouts in the game for Delaware were senior quarterback Zach Marker, senior running back Quincy Watson, junior running back Jo’Nathan Silver, senior wide receiver Phil Lutz, and senior wideout Jake Thaw.
Marker completed 20 of his 31 passes for 279 yards for three touchdowns in the win.
Watson rushed for 66 yards on 12 carries with one touchdown in the game.
Silver rushed for 50 yards on 4 carries with one touchdown in the win.
Lutz had five receptions for 133 yards with one touchdown in the game.
Thaw had five receptions for 34 yards with two touchdowns in the win.
On the defensive side, sophomore linebacker Gavin Moul led the team in tackles in the win with six. The team had three interceptions in the game, senior linebacker Ty Davis, sophomore defensive back KT Seay, and junior defensive back Mysonne Pollard each snagged one. Davis returned his interception for a touchdown in the win. Senior defensive lineman Nick Karika forced a fumble and senior defensive back Nic Ware recovered a fumble.
