Blue Hens offensive explosion leads to a 42-35 victory over Monmouth

The University of Delaware’s football team moved to 5-0 on the season as they took down the Monmouth University Hawks 42-35 on Saturday.

The offensive standouts in the game for Delaware were senior quarterback Zach Marker, senior running back Marcus Yarns, and senior wide receiver Phil Lutz.

 Marker completed 16 of his 33 passes for 298 yards for three touchdowns in the win. He also rushed for a touchdown in the game.

Yarns rushed for 142 yards on 22 carries with one touchdown in the win. He also caught a touchdown in the game.

Lutz had six receptions for 91 yards with two touchdowns in the win.

On the defensive side, Graduate student defensive back Jason Scott and sophomore linebacker Gavin Moul co-led the team in tackles in the win with seven. Moul also snagged an interception in the game. Junior defensive lineman Q’yaeir Price recorded a sack in the victory.
