The Goldey-Beacom women’s soccer team earned their second win of the season on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over the Post University Eagles.
Game Recap:
Goldey-Beacom takes home a 2-0 victory!
The scoreboard was silent in the first half, as neither team could find a goal, but that would change in the second.
The Lightning would strike first at the 58-minute mark when Senior defender/midfielder Alyssa Petulla found her teammate Senior forward Sia Diakos, who rocketed the ball in for a score to give her team a 1-0 lead.
Ten minutes later, Diakos earned another goal when teammate freshman Diana Luna Lopez assisted with the score to seal a 2-0 win over Post.

The standouts in the game for the Lightning were Alyssa Petulla, Sia Diakos, Diana Luna Lopez, and senior goalkeeper Nikki Cashin.
Petulla had one assist in the game.
Diakos had five shots, two shots at the goal, and two goals in the victory.
