The Wilmington University women’s soccer team earned their sixth victory of the season with a 3-0 victory over the Felician University Golden Falcons.
Wilmington University takes home a 3-0 win!
The Wildcats would strike first in this matchup, as senior forward Alyssa Ruggeri would set up teammate Graduate forward Jordan Siok, who found the net at the 36-minute mark to give her team a 1-0 lead.
A couple of minutes later, Siok scored her second goal of the game to push the Cats’ edge to 2-0.
Barely a minute later, WilmU would expand their advantage to three, when senior defender Brianna Wons blasted the ball in for a score. Freshman defender Zoey Lappin assisted on Wons’ goal.
Stats and standouts:
The standouts in the game for the Wildcats were Jordan Siok, Alyssa Ruggeri, Brianna Wons, Zoey Lappin, redshirt freshman goalkeeper Isabella Mazzone, senior goalkeeper Mio Nakajima, and sophomore goalkeeper Arianna Myers.
Siok had six shots, two shots at the goal, and two goals in the win.
Ruggeri had four shots, one shot at the goal, and one assist in the victory.
Wons had five shots, three shots at the goal, and one goal in the win.
Lappin had one assist in the game.
Mazzone allowed zero goals in 15 minutes and 09 seconds in the game.
Nakajima allowed zero goals in 29 minutes and 51 seconds in the win.
Myers allowed one goal in 45 minutes in the game.
