Fast forward to the 7:49 minute mark, where the Hens would put together their first scoring drive, as the team cruised 80 yards in nine plays to end with quarterback Ryan O’Connor connecting with his wide receiver Phil Lutz for 41-yard touchdown catch to slice the score to 9-6. UD will miss the extra point on the next play.

Three possessions later, Penn’s offense would punch back by flying downfield on a six-play, 91-yard drive that ended with Aidan Sayin finding his wide receiver Bisi Owens for the nine-yard touchdown reception to end the first half with a 16-6 edge.

UD would get the ball first in the second half and would not waste it, as the team drove 50 yards in five plays to end with Phil Lutz catching the second touchdown of the day to cut the score to 16-12 with 13:02 remaining in the third.

After the Quakers would end their series in five plays, the Blue Hens offense would score again when the team 44 yards in nine plays to end with kicker Nate Reed nailing a 35-yard field goal to slice the deficit to one point (16-15) at the end of the third.

Fast forward to the 6:02 minute mark, where Penn would regain the lead (22-21) by driving 38 yards in eight plays to end with Aidan Sayin pounding the rock in for a one-yard score. The Quakers would fail on the two-point try on the next play.

The Blue Hens would punch right back by going 75 yards in ten plays to end with running back Jo’Nathan Silver dashing 13 yards for a touchdown to grab a 29-22 lead with 1:44 remaining in the game. Delaware would convert on a two-point try on the next play.

The Quakers wouldn’t back down as on the first play of their drive, Aidan Sayin hit his wide receiver Jared Richardson for 58 yards to set them up at UD’s 17-yard line with 1:26 left in the fourth.

Two plays later, UD would seal their win when linebacker Ty Davis intercepted Sayin’s pass.
