The University of Delaware’s football team moved to 3-0 on the season after getting a wild 29-22 comeback win over the University of Pennsylvania Quakers.
The offensive standouts in the game for Delaware were senior quarterback Ryan O’Connor, junior running back Jo’Nathan Silver, senior wide receiver Phil Lutz, and senior wideout Jake Thaw.
O’Connor completed 25 of his 43 passes for 309 yards for three touchdowns in the win.
Silver rushed for 56 yards on 11 carries with one touchdown in the game.
Lutz had seven receptions for 144 yards with two touchdowns in the win.
Thaw had nine receptions for 72 yards with one touchdown in the victory.
On the defensive side, Sophomore linebacker Gavin Moul would lead the team in tackles with 14. The Hens had two sacks in the game, which came from Graduate student defensive lineman Ethan Saunders (1), senior defensive lineman Keyshawn Hunter (0.5), and junior defensive lineman Melkart Abou-Jaoude (0.5). Sophomore defensive back KT Seay and linebacker Ty Davis each snagged an interception in the victory.
