The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team earned a sweep on Sunday as the team picked up two wins versus the Dominican University (N.Y.) Chargers with a 13-5 victory and an 11-3 triumph. The Lightning also locked up the #2 seed in the CACC Tournament for the South division with the victory.

Goldey-Beacom would trail by three runs at the end of the third inning.
The Lightning would strike first in this game as senior infielder Garrett Musey knocked a RBI single to right field to give his team a 1-0 edge in the bottom of the opening inning.
Two innings later, Dominican (N.Y.) would get on the board in a big way, as the team plated four runs on four hits and one error to grab a 4-1 advantage.
The Lightning would hold a four-run lead at the end of the fourth inning.
After losing their lead in the third inning, Goldey-Beacom would rally back to take an 8-4 edge by scoring seven runs on eight hits and one error.
Junior infielder Dante DiSabatino, senior first baseman Kyle Walker, and senior infielder Darin Miller each recorded an RBI single in the inning.
Junior infielder Braden Kolmansberger would push a run in the fourth inning with a Sac Fly to left field.
Two plays after the Kolmansberger score, junior outfielder Christian Petrillo would score on a throwing error from the Chargers pitcher to give his team a 5-4 lead.
Junior outfielder Mitch Jolikko would have the biggest scoring highlight of the inning by slapping a two-run triple to right field to give his team an 8-4 edge.
Goldey-Beacom takes home a 13-5 win!
After being shut down in the top of the fourth, Dominican (N.Y.) would slice the deficit to three runs (8-5) when Tyler Richman scored on a wild pitch.
The Lightning would get that run back in the bottom of the inning when Darin Miller recorded his second RBI of the game with a single to right center to take the score to 9-5.
GBC would continue to add to their lead in the bottom of the sixth inning when the team scored four runs on three hits and three errors to take a 13-5 advantage.
Dante DiSabatino started the scoring in the inning as he smoked a two-run single to center field to give his team an 11-5 advantage.
Three plays later, Braden Kolmansberger would push in a run when he reached first base on a fielder’s choice to take the score to 12-5.
Miller would get his third RBI of the game in the sixth inning when he hit an RBI single to the shortstop to give his team a 13-5 lead.
Pitching Recap:
Junior starting pitcher Ryan Pozo went three innings, gave up five hits, four runs, three earned runs, and struck out one batter.
Sophomore pitcher Kevin Dillon went two innings, gave up one hit, one run, one earned run, two walks, struck out one batter, and earned the win.
The bullpen consisted of two relievers, who combined to give up two hits, one run, one earned run, three walks, and struck out two batters.
