Wilmington University leads by four runs after the second inning.
The Wildcats would get on the board first in the second game of the doubleheader, as junior outfielder Gabriella Saucedo would push in a run with a Sac Fly to right field to give her team a 1-0 edge in the opening inning.
WilmU would widen their advantage in the bottom of the second inning when senior first baseman Arianna Millan slapped an RBI single to first base, and two plays later, junior outfielder Tristyn Stewart would smoke a two-run double to left center to push their team lead to 4-0.
WilmU leads by three runs at the end of the fourth inning.
Post would get on the board for the first time in this game in the third inning, as Lily Tomasiello hit a two-run single down the left field line to take the score to 4-2.
Wilmington University would add another run in the fourth inning when Senior infielder Lexi Moore knocked a two-out RBI single to second base to push her team’s advantage to 5-2.
Wilmington University takes home a 9-2 win!
WilmU would continue to expand their lead in the bottom of the fifth, as Haley Downin would hit a RBI bunt single to the catcher and the next play junior catcher Emma Zimmerman would push in a run when she grounded out to second base to give their team a 7-2 edge.
Wilmington would add two more runs in the sixth inning to take a 9-2 win over Post.
Pitching Recap:
Redshirt sophomore starting pitcher Delani Sheehan went three innings, gave up four hits, two runs, one earned run, two walks, and struck out two batters.
Junior pitcher Kylee Gunkel closed out the game by going four innings, gave up two hits, two walks, struck out two batters, and earned the win.
