The Goldey-Beacom College softball team would earn a sweep on Saturday as the team picked up two wins over Dominican University New York Chargers.

Goldey-Beacom walks off with a 2-1 win!
The pitching dominated in this one, as the Lightning’s, Senior starting pitcher Abigail O’Shields, and Dominican’s (N.Y.) Emily Baxter only gave up a combined two hits through six innings.
The Chargers would get the first run of the game in the top of the seventh inning, where Haylee Ridge knocked a solo home run to left center to give her team a 1-0 edge.
GBC would respond in the bottom of the inning, with two of the three opening batters getting on base with an error and a double.
Sophomore infielder Autumn Simpson would end it all when she would push in the winning run with a Sac Fly to give her team a 2-1 victory.
Pitching Recap:
Abigail O’Shields went seven innings, gave up two hits, one run, one earned run, one walk, struck out 13 batters, and earned the win.
