Wilmington University takes a one-run lead in the first inning.
Post would strike first in the second game of the doubleheader, as Justin Rivera smoked an RBI double to left center to give his team a 1-0 edge in the top of the opening inning.
The Wildcats would respond in the bottom of the inning with Kory Pritchard hitting an RBI single to right field, and two plays later, Erik Grady would push in a run when he grounded out to give their team a 2-1 lead.
The Wildcats hold a six-run advantage at the end of the second inning.
WilmU’s bats would start to spark in the bottom of the second inning, as the team scored five runs on three hits to take a 7-1 advantage.
Senior catcher Jack McDonald started the scoring off on the second, as he knocked a two-run single to right field to give his team a 4-1 edge.
Two batters later, junior infielder Zach Walker slugged a three-run homer to right field to give the Wildcats a 7-1 lead.
WilmU holds a six-run lead after three innings.
The Eagles would cut into the deficit a little in the top of the third inning when the team had two RBI singles to put the score at 7-3.
Wilmington University would get those two runs back in the bottom of the inning, as Junior outfielder Sean Glatts scored on a throwing error, and then Tyler Pirrung would send a runner home a Sac fly to give their team a 9-3 advantage.
The Wildcats take a 14-run lead at the end of the fifth inning.
WilmU would add another run to their lead in the fourth inning when Kory Pritchard scored on a wild pitch to give his team a 10-3 edge.
The Wildcats bats would explode in the bottom of the fifth inning when the team would score seven runs on six hits to take a 17-3 advantage.
Some of the scoring highlights in the inning include Erik Grady slapping a two-run single to left center and Chase Fleming hitting a two-run double down the right field line.
Wilmington University takes home a 22-3 victory!
WilmU would continue to extend their advantage in the bottom of the sixth inning, as the team scored five runs on three hits to seal a 22-3 victory.
One of the highlights of the inning came when junior outfielder Shawn Edevane smoked a four-run homer to right field.

Freshman starting pitcher Xavier Cortez went five innings, gave up six hits, three runs, one earned run, two walks, and struck out six batters in a victory.
The bullpen consisted of two relievers, who combined to give up three walks and struck out two batters.
