The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team earned a sweep on Wednesday as the team picked up two wins versus the Lincoln University (PA) Lions with a 19-0 victory and a 4-1 triumph.
Let’s talk about the 19-0 victory first!

Goldey-Beacom takes a four-run lead at the end of the first inning.
The Lightning would strike first in this game, as the team scored four runs on three hits to take a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the opening inning.
Senior second baseman Kyle Walker would get the scoring started in the inning as he slapped a two-run double down the left field line to give his team a 2-0 lead.
Sophomore outfielder Anthony Charles would be the next batter, as he smoked a two-run homer to right center to give the team a 4-0 edge.
The Lightning would take a 13-run lead at the end of the third inning.
Goldey-Beacom would blow their lead wide open in the bottom of the third when the team scored nine runs on seven hits and one error.
Three players drove in multiple runs with one hit in the inning, which included Anthony Charles’s two-run double, Junior infielder Braden Kolmansberger’s two-run double, and senior infielder Garrett Musey‘s two-run homer.
GBC takes an 18-run lead at the end of the fourth inning.
The Lightning would remain hot on offense as the team scored five runs on six hits to take an 18-0 edge in the fourth inning.
One of the highlights of the inning came when Kyle Walker pushed his fourth RBI of the game when smacked a two-run double down the left field line.
Goldey-Beacom takes home a 19-0 win!
GBC would add one last run in the fifth inning when senior infielder Michael Baginski hit a solo home run to left field to give his team a 19-0 lead.
Pitching Recap:
Senior starting pitcher Jake Kelchner went five innings, gave up four hits, and two walks, struck out four batters, and earned the win.
The bullpen consisted of two relievers, who combined to give up one hit, and struck out two batters.
