Wilmington University softball sweeps Georgian Court

Wilmington University leads by four runs at the end of the first inning.

The Wildcats would get on the board first in the second game of the doubleheader, as the teams scored four runs on four hits to take a 4-0 edge in the bottom of the opening inning.

 Sara Miller would get the first run on the game on the board when she hit an RBI single up the middle to give her team a 1-0 lead.

 Taylor Gillis would be the next batter up, as she knocked a two-run triple down the right field line to give WilmU a 3-0 advantage.

Graduate student infielder Sam Freeland would push in the last run of the inning when she grounded out to extend the score to 4-0.

WilmU leads by nine runs at the end of the second inning.

Wilmington would widen their lead in the second inning, as the team scored five runs on five hits to take a 9-0 edge.

 Gabriella Saucedo started the scoring off in the inning by slapping a two-run double to left center to expand the lead to 6-0.

 Sara Miller would come up to the plate next, as she smoked a two-run single to center field to give her team an 8-0 lead. 

Two batters later, Sam Freeland hit an RBI single through the right side to give the Cats a 9-0 advantage.

The Wildcats lead by seven runs at the end of the third inning.

Georgian Court would finally get on the board in the third inning when Adriana Mungo slapped a two-run single through the left side to take the score to 9-2.

Wilmington University takes home a 12-2 win!

Two innings later, WilmU would continue to expand their advantage when sophomore outfielder Alexa Eisemann knocked a three-run homer to left field to give her team a 12-2 win.
