The Wilmington University softball picked up two wins on Wednesday as the team swept the Georgian Court University Lions 8-0 (Game One) and 12-2 (Game Two).

Wilmington University leads by two runs at the end of the first inning.
The Wildcats would strike first in this game, as the Junior outfielder Taylor Gillis hit a two-run single to give her team a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the opening inning.
The Wildcats lead by three runs at the end of the fourth inning.
Wilmington University would add another run to their lead in the bottom of the fourth inning as Junior catcher Emma Zimmerman would push in a run when she was issued a walk to give her team a 3-0 edge.
WilmU leads by six runs at the end of the fifth inning.
The Wildcats would continue to widen their lead in the bottom of the fifth, where the team scored three runs on three hits to take a 6-0 advantage.
Senior outfielder Sara Miller started the scoring in the inning as she slapped an RBI double to right center to push the score to 4-0.
Taylor Gillis would step up to the plate next, as she knocked an RBI single up the middle to give her team a 5-0 lead.
Two batters later, senior first baseman Julia Thuer would also hit an RBI single up the middle to give WilmU a 6-0 edge.
Wilmington University takes home an 8-0 win!
WilmU would add one last run to their total in the sixth when junior outfielder Gabriella Saucedo smoked a two-run double down the left-field line to give her team an 8-0 win!
Pitching Recap:
Junior starting pitcher Kylee Gunkel dominated the Georgian Court batters in the win, as she went six innings, gave up three hits, two walks, and struck out four batters.
