The Wilmington University softball pushed their winning streak to 18 games, as the team swept the Goldey-Beacom College Lightning on Monday.

Wilmington University leads by two at the end of the third inning.
The first run of this game would come in the top of the second inning when senior first baseman Julia Thuer slapped an RBI single to center field to give the Wildcats a 1-0 edge.
Wilmington would add another run in the next inning, as junior outfielder Gabriella Saucedo pushed in a run with an RBI bunt single to the pitcher to give her team a 2-0 lead.
WilmU takes a seven-run lead at the end of the fifth inning.
WilmU would continue to widen their lead two innings later, as the team scored five runs on three hits to take a 7-0 advantage.
Julia Thuer and senior outfielder Sara Miller would each push in a run with a sac fly in the inning.
Senior infielder Bri Coyle would get a base runner in with an RBI single up the middle.
The highlight score of the fifth inning came when junior outfielder Taylor Gillis knocked a two-run double to left-center.
Wilmington University takes home a 9-1 win!
The Wildcats would continue to make their lead very comfortable in the sixth inning, as the team scored two runs on four hits and one error to take a 9-0 lead.
Junior outfielder Tristyn Stewart would open the inning with an inside-the-park solo home run to push the score to 8-0.
Three batters later, Sara Miller would record her second RBI of the game when she hit an RBI single up the middle to give her team a 9-0 advantage.
Goldey-Beacom would score their first and only run of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning when Morgan Scott smoked a lead-off solo home run to right center to cut the deficit to 9-1.
Pitching Recap:
Junior starting pitcher Kylee Gunkel dominated the Lightning batters in this outing, as she went six innings, gave up three hits, one run, one earned run, four walks, two strikeouts, one home run, and earned the win.
