Goldey-Beacom scores 30 runs in sweep over Jefferson

Game Recap:

Goldey-Beacom leads by two runs at the end of the second inning.

After not getting a hit in the top of the first inning, the Lightning bats would strike in the second, as the team scored two runs on two hits to take a 2-0 edge. 

 Junior infielder Braden Kolmansberger would come up big for GBC in the second inning, as he smashed a two-run homer to left field to give his team a 2-0 advantage.

The Lightning holds a six-run lead after the third inning.

Goldey-Beacom would continue to widen their lead in the third inning, as the team scored four runs on four hits and one error to grab a 6-0 advantage.

Senior infielder Garrett Musey would push in the first run in the inning as he slapped an RBI single to left field to give his team a 3-0 edge.

Two batters later, Braden Kolmansberger came up to the plate, and he would knock in his third run of the day with an RBI single to push the team’s lead to 4-0.

Sophomore outfielder Anthony Charles would be the next batter, as he hit a two-run single to left field to give his team a 6-0 advantage.

GBC leads by eight runs after the end of the six innings.

The Lightning would add another run in the fifth inning when Senior third baseman Kyle Walker hit a solo home run to left field to extend his team’s edge to 7-0.

Goldey-Beacom would push in another run in the top of the sixth inning when senior outfielder Demetrius Johnson got a runner home with a sac fly to take the score to 8-0.

Goldey-Beacom takes home an 11-0 win!

GBC would continue to pour on the runs in the seventh inning, as the team scored three runs on three hits to take home an 11-0 win.

Garrett Musey would start the scoring in the inning as he smacked a two-run homer down the left-field line to push the score to 10-0.

Four plays later, senior infielder Darin Miller would score on a wild pitch to give his team an 11-0 edge.

Pitching Recap:

Sophomore starting pitcher Nate Miller knew how to handle the Jefferson hitters, as he went six innings, gave up two hits and two walks, struck out six batters, hit one batter, and earned the win.

Junior pitcher Mikey Hawbaker closed out the game, as he went one inning and struck out two batters.
