The Wilmington University baseball team moved their record to 10-7 with a 5-3 victory over the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Hawks on Sunday.

Wilmington University would take a two-run lead after the third inning.
The two lineups would only combine for one hit in the first two innings of this matchup.
That would all change in the bottom of the third when WilmU scored two runs on two hits and one error to take a 2-0 lead.
Freshman outfielder D’Angelo Ponce would get the scoring started in the inning, as he hit a RBI single through the right side of the field to give his team a 1-0.
Sophomore catcher Mason DeLuca would come up to the plate next and slap a RBI double to center field to extend his team’s advantage to 2-0.
WilmU holds a two-run lead after the fourth inning.
Indiana (Pa.) would finally get on the board in the top of the fourth inning when Peyton Johnson hit an RBI double to center field to cut the score to 2-1.
Wilmington would add a run back in the bottom of the inning when the team had a double steal, with freshman infield Xavier Cortez taking second and junior outfielder Trevor Adamo taking home to push his team’s advantage to 3-1.
Wilmington University takes home a 5-3 win!
The Hawks would punch back in the top of the fifth when they scored two runs on two hits and an error to tie the game at three.
Three innings later, the Wildcats would make some noise as the team scored two runs on two hits to take a 5-3 lead.
Freshman first baseman Chase Fleming would start the scoring in the inning, as he would knock an RBI double to right center field to give his team a 4-3 edge.
Two plays later, Xavier Cortez would push in a run with a sac fly to give the Cats a 5-3 advantage.
Pitching recap:
Senior starting pitcher Anthony Giordano went 4.2 innings and gave up three hits, three runs, two earned runs, five walks, and four strikeouts.
Junior pitcher Alec Roselli would come in for Giordano, as he went 0.1 innings and gave up one walk.
Senior pitcher Matt Warrington closed out the game, as he went four innings, gave up three hits, one walk, struck out four batters, and earned the save.
