Wilmington University trails by two runs after the end of the second inning.
In the second game of this doubleheader, Bridgeport would get on the scoreboard first in this one, as a throwing error by WilmU’s shortstop allowed Angela Oros to score to give her team a 1-0 lead in the opening inning.
The Purple Knights would add to their lead in the top of the second, as Meg McFarland would slap an RBI single to left field to give her team a 2-1 edge.
WilmU takes home a 3-2 win!
After getting six hits in the first five innings but with no runners finding home base, Wilmington’s lineup would finally get roaring in the sixth by scoring three runs on three hits to take a 3-2 lead.
Senior second baseman Haley Downin would get the scoring started in the inning as she smacked a two-out, two-run single down the left-field line to tie the game at two.
Tristyn Stewart would be up next, as she would hit an RBI single down the left-field line to give her team a 3-2 edge.

Redshirt sophomore starting pitcher Delani Sheehan went seven innings, gave up seven hits, two runs, one walk, three strikeouts, and earned the win.
