The Goldey-Beacom College baseball team earned a split on Saturday by losing their first game 7-5 to the D’Youville University Saints, but they would take home a win in the second with a score of 8-1.

Goldey-Beacom takes a two-run lead after the end of the second inning.
Neither team would get a run on the board in the first, but that would all change in the second inning.
The Lightning would strike first as junior catcher Calen Kampes would blast a three-run homer to left field in the bottom of the second inning to give his team a 2-0 lead.
The Lightning leads by three runs in the bottom of the third inning.
D’Youville would answer back in the top of the third inning, as Ethan Hammond pushed in a run on a fielder’s choice to slice the score to 2-1.
GBC would punch back in the bottom of the third when the team scored two runs on one hit to take a 4-1 edge.
The fourth batter of the inning would be senior infielder Garrett Musey, who would smack a two-out, two-run homer to left field to give his team a 4-1 advantage.
GBC leads by five runs at the end of the fifth inning.
The homers would continue to fly for Goldey-Beacom, as junior outfielder Christian Petrillo would hit a two-run bomb in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the score to 6-1.
Goldey-Beacom takes home an 8-1 victory!
The Lightning would keep pouring on the runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, as junior infielder Braden Kolmansberger would slap a two-run double up the middle to push the score to 8-1.
Pitching Recap:
Sophomore starting pitcher Nate Miller went seven innings, gave up five hits, one run, one earned run, one walk, struck out four batters, and earned the win.
