Goldey-Beacom trails by four runs after the second inning.

In the second game of the day, the Lightning wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, as Alex Lowry hit an RBI single through the right side to give her team a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

Saint Rose would respond in a big way in the top of the second inning, as the team scored five runs on four hits and an error to take a 5-1 edge.

The Golden Knights had back-to-back two-run doubles in the inning, which opened the lead up to four.

The Lightning scores seven runs in the fourth inning.

After being held scoreless for two innings, the GBC batters were ready to make some noise in the bottom of the fourth, as the team scored seven runs on seven hits to take an 8-5 advantage.

Gabriella Monzo would push in the first run of the inning as she smacked an RBI double to right field to cut the score to 5-2.

Junior outfielder Bri Snover followed up Monzo’s run with one of her own, as she hit an RBI bunt single to first base to slice the deficit to 5-3.

Two plays later, sophomore catcher Emma Friel would hit a two-run single to right field to tie the game at five.

Three plays later, Senior outfielder Hannah Davis would push in another run with a Sacfrice bunt to give GBC a 6-5 advantage in the fourth.

A couple of plays later, McKenna Frank would go home on a wild pitch to push her team’s lead to 7-5.

 Junior infielder Bryn Bohmann would be the next batter up, as she would slap a solo home run to center field to put the Lightning’s edge at 8-5.

GBC leads by six runs after the end of the fifth inning.

Saint Rose would cut into Goldey’s lead in the top of the fifth when the team scored two runs on one hit and one error to put the score at 8-7.

GBC would put some cushion in their lead in the bottom of the inning, as they scored five runs on four hits to take a 13-7 advantage.

McKenna Frank would push in the first run of the inning with a sac fly to give her team a 9-7 edge.

Hannah Davis would step up to the plate next, as she would hit an RBI double to left center to give the Lightning a 10-7 lead.

Two batters later, Bryn Bohmann would hit an RBI single through the left side to give the team an 11-7 advantage.

Sophomore infielder Morgan Scott would come up to the plate next, and she would knock a single to right center to give her team a 12-7 edge.

Then the next batter, sophomore infielder Autumn Simpson, would hit a single through the left side to give the team a 13-7 lead.

Goldey-Beacom takes home a 14-11 win!

The Golden Knights would continue to fight in the top of the sixth inning, as the team scored four runs on five hits to cut the score to 13-11.

Kelsey Higgins’s three-run homer was one of the highlight moments in a big inning for Saint Rose.

The Lightning would put some breathing room in their lead in the bottom of the sixth inning when Emma Friel would score on a throwing error by the catcher to give her team a 14-11 edge.

Pitching Recap:

Junior starting pitcher Cat Nelson would go 1.2 innings and give up four hits, five runs, and one walk in the game.

Sophomore pitcher Alesia Doctor would come in for Nelson, as she went 3.1 innings, gave up seven hits, six runs, five earned runs, two walks, two strikeouts, hit one batter, and earned the win.

Junior pitcher Morgan McLane would close out the game by pitching two innings, gave up one hit, and earned the save.
