Delaware was ready for some CAA post-season play, as the team flew out to a 28-8 lead over Hampton with 7:53 remaining in the opening half.
During that stretch, the Pirates could not shut down Jyáre Davis, Gerald Drumgoole Jr., and Jalun Trent, as the trio scored 21 of the team’s 28 points.
UD’s defense was also solid during this time, as the unit collected 13 rebounds, three blocks, and two steals.
Fast forward to the 3:13 minute mark, where Cavan Reilly would drain a three-pointer to extend the Blue Hens advantage to 46-12.
The Hens would score five more points in the first half to take a 51-16 lead into halftime.
Delaware takes home an 80-50 win!
Fast forward to the 16:37 minute mark in the second half, where Gerald Drumgoole Jr. would drain a three-pointer to push the Blue Hens lead to 45 points (63-18).
UD would score 17 more points for the rest of the second half to seal an 80-50 victory over the Pirates.
